GUtech
German University of Technology in Oman

In 2007, the German University of Technology in Oman GUtech was established in Muscat with the support of RWTH Aachen University. On the private initiatives of Sheikh Abdullah al-Salmi and Sheikh Saud Bin Ali al Khalili, this technical university was founded in Oman. RWTH Aachen University collaborates with Omani donors to coordinate the development of this university in accordance with their academic guidelines. The interaction of teaching activities, research and the regional economy is paramount as it is with RWTH Aachen University.

Vision
“GUtech provides students with the education required to become highly qualified and socially responsible graduates, guided by German excellence in science and technology with a firm grounding in Oman`s culture and heritage. The University fosters creative and critical thinking to advance research and development and, through this, aims at serving society as a whole.“
